The Warm Weather Wrap
We love the sun, we love the sun, we love the sun! Wait a minute . . . WE LOVE THE SUN! The sun is the most wonderful thing in the this world. It is nice living in Utah, we sure love being out doors and enjoying mother nature.
The seasons Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall are vastly different in Utah.
Winter is long, cold, and dark. Winter is when we go into hibernation, because the days are super short. We honestly get a lot more sleep in the winter time. The white snow that covers the ground is a beautiful site to see. I always say, if it's going to be this cold I want to see snow. If you are a snow bunny, a "lover of the snow" and you have the money to actively participate in the winter sports, then Utah is a wonderful place from November until February. Back-in-the-day (a.k.a when we were young) winter was fun because we both had season passes to The Canyons and we went snowboarding every weekend.
Spring is a time of warming, sprouting, growing and blooming. Spring is when we wake up, are filled with joy, and we get outside again. Utah is a beautiful place as the earth wakes up in March and begins to grow through April, May, and June. Spring makes me think of new life; baby animals, new plants and trees, and a whole new attitude inside humans. Spring is one of my favorite times of year, and Easter sunday is my favorite holiday to celebrate.
Summer is a perfect time to soak up the sun. The summer sun is wonderful from July until the beginning of September. Summer is my other favorite time of year. There are so many activities and opportunities for fun during the summer. The best thing you can do in the summer time is be outdoors. Being up in the mountains camping, fishing, hiking, walking, rock climbing; doing just about anything up in the mountains during the summer time is the most wonderful thing that can be done. I love the long, sunny and warm days in the summer time.
Fall or Autumn has an abundant display of colored leaves. As the weather cools down in September, October and November, the leaves on the tree's begin to die. This is a good thing . . . because dying leaves turn into beautifully colored leaves. Being in the mountains is a must during the Fall! It is still possible to have a campfire up in the mountains in the early part of Fall. Sweaters come out of the closet because it is starting to get chilly. The chilly weather is okay because at this time of year a cozy jacket wrapped around you feels nice.
It is nice to see the extreme changes during all the seasons in Utah. Although experiencing a full life cycle of the earth is interesting in Utah, living through every season has it's challenges too. Winter days are very short and very cold! Every time winter comes in late November, we seriously consider moving south where it is warmer and sunnier. Maybe one day we will have a second home and we can call ourselves "snow birds", those who escape the cold.
