Green Valley Ranch - Heaven on Earth

Green Valley Ranch is the best place on earth, and our favorite trip every year. My great grandpa Alva purchased lots of land in Atlanta Idaho many moons ago. He has wanted to keep this hidden treasure in the family forever. He passed away just recently at the age of 93, and has left this land to all of his children. The lodge doesn't make enough money through out the year to keep paying it's own property tax, that's a problem.  There is talk among the siblings of selling part of the land on the other side of the river. There is a bit of talk about maintaining the beautiful runway, building lodges for private pilots and selling to individuals, that sounds really cool. This year, more than ever James and I dream of the future Ranch trips. It would be super wonderful to carry on with this tradition and let our children have such a wonderful experience up in Atlanta Idaho, at the Green Valley Ranch.

Fishing at the lake in float tubes, canoes, and paddle boats is one of our favorite activities. It was so relaxing hanging out at the lake. Sam sure wasn't very relaxed when dad would reel a fish in, it made in cry to see a floppin' fish.

Swimming in the (bath temperature) pool at least every morning and every evening is a wonderful tradition. Shampooing your hair near the pool drains every morning beats standing in a shower to wash your hair.

Nothing compares to 4-wheeling or going Vroom Vroom (in Sam's language) by way of travel for 2 weeks straight. 

It was neat to have horses out in the pastures. The Kids loved riding horses, it sure was fun to help them ride Princess and Dolly. Sam loved feeding the horses. If we weren't careful we would find his fist full of hay luring in the horses. He didn't understand why you need to hold your hand flat when feeding horses. It's a good thing his fingers didn't get chomped!

Melissa and I got to sneak away and be kid-free one evening, we rode 4-wheelers up China Basin. It's a good thing we didn't die on the trail. If someone did die, I think it would have been Melissa crashing into a mountain with her 4-wheeler.
